Sister A arrives!

Much discussion about food options this Saturday afternoon. Our Master Chef, Sister A has arrived. Thank goodness. I'm more suited as sous chef. Mom had not been consuming enough calories today but with the arrival of Sister A, she becomes an eating machine. I won't go into details in case this post finds its way to some cancer survivors special diet website, but those of you who are familiar with mom's, well, eclectic eating habits, will not be surprised to read that she had a taste for some local delicacies that visitors to these parts normally shun.

I've been concerned that the mere discussion of food options would be a turn off to mom. Eating is a chore right now and she's always been a very whimsical eater. Meandering along, grazing whenever she felt like it. This lifetime habit is very hard to break. I remember as a kid, waking up in the middle of the night and actually hearing her crunching on something. I guess her jawbones have acoustic qualities. Whatever she had a hankering for at midnight, she ate. And it sounded delicious.

I'm counting on Sister A to whip up some yummy concoctions that we all can enjoy.
